It's actually sort of the perfect opera for romantic shenanigans! There are no major musical numbers to speak of, since each piece of music blurs into the next. You could get away with ANYTHING with that going on in the background. Had they gone to, say, Verdi, there would have been some startling moments that would have stopped them both in their tracks!
