One week to go: submissions due by midnight August 14

Submissions are rolling in and the countdown is on! All outstanding works are due by midnight Pacific Time on Sunday, August 14.

If you are unable to meet the deadline, please email the fest mod at sshgsmut@gmail.com as soon as possible. Extensions will be granted if you email at least 24 hours before the deadline. Late submissions will not be accepted without an extension.

Before submitting your work, please take a moment to review the complete submission guidelines, available on our profile page.

If you have already submitted your work or have not yet claimed, and are feeling inspired to create some last-minute smut, you are welcome to claim prompts up to August 13. The deadline for all works remains midnight, August 14, no matter when you claim, so keep that in mind before submitting further claims!

Clarification regarding "sexual and erotic content"

What is "Sexual and Erotic Content"?
For the purposes of SS/HG Smut Fest, "sexual and erotic content" describes graphic depictions of sexual intercourse, non-penetrative sex, or masturbation. It also includes elements of BDSM or fetish, provided they are highly sexualized in nature.

In essence, "sexual or erotic content" or "smut" refers to porn. It can be traditional porn, loving and sensual porn, porn without plot, porn buried in lots of plot, kinky porn, fetish porn, hilarious porn, beautifully rendered artistic porn—whatever you like, however you like, but it should occur "on screen" and be clear to the reader or viewer what is going on.

In general, this would require a content rating of NC-17 or Explicit.

Nudity, sex talk, and fetishes, without additional sexual content, do not meet the requirements for "sexual or erotic content" for the purposes of the fest.
